Written by our very own Jonathan Hollins, affectionately known on St Helena as 'Joe The Vet'.  Joe's book shares his stories from his time on St Helena including caring for the world’s oldest living land animal – a 200-year-old giant tortoise, denizen of the St Helena governor’s lawn’.  It includes his time as resident vet in the Falklands, St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha and encompasses other complexities such as MoD mascots at the Falklands airbase; pursuing mystery creatures and invasive microorganisms; relocating herds of reindeer; and rescuing animals in extraordinarily rugged landscapes, from subtropical cloud forests to volcanic cliff faces.
